New child care center launches in Copper with over 40 spots for infants, toddlers and preschoolers

Mountain Sprouts Academy opens its doors less than a year after the project began, bringing much-need service to local families, workers

A recently remodeled 3,000-square-foot space in Copper is now home to Summit County’s newest child care facility. 

Dubbed the Mountain Sprouts Academy, the center, located in Copper Mountain’s central village, opened its doors on Feb. 28 with the capacity to take on more than 40 children, ranging from infants to preschoolers. 

For Abigail Tietjen, a Copper resident who serves as the center’s board chair, the opening couldn’t come soon enough.
